BEHIND THE LENS
Sheri Minardi Photography was born from Sheri’s lifelong passion for both photography and the outdoors. Raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Sheri grew up hunting, fishing, and exploring the natural world—always with a camera in hand. What began as a genuine hobby evolved into a second career after her retirement in 2018, following 32 years of teaching in the Elementary Panel with the Algoma District School Board.
A proud local photographer in the Algoma Region, Sheri specializes in Real Estate and Commercial Photography, bringing professionalism, artistry, and a deep understanding of the region to every project. Her portfolio also includes stunning Landscape, Wildlife, and Astrophotography, which she sells as fine art gallery prints. Her work has reached audiences around the world, with pieces purchased and shipped internationally.
Sheri won the Algoma Board of Director's Award in 2019 from Algoma That Real - Algoma Kinniwabi: "Through your beautiful photography, you truly capture the amazing outdoor activities, wilderness and wildlife that has helped to elevate and showcase Ontario's Algoma Country as a must visit destination."
Sheri remains connected to education and community by teaching photography to elementary and secondary students across Algoma upon request. In addition to her photography business, she is a contributing writer and photographer for Northern Ontario Travel and has completed commercial assignments for numerous local businesses.
Sheri’s photography has been featured in notable publications such as Canadian Geographic, ON Nature, and The Ontario Birds Record Committee Report, further establishing her as a respected visual storyteller of Northern Ontario’s beauty.
